A friend asked me - what long form content mediums do I think will be most popular in 10 yrs? What might die out or make a comeback?
I'm not that interested in answering that question. Companies struggle most with the part that comes before the articulation medium, which is the more core question of what they want to say. What their voice and take is in the first place.
In growing my own newsletter, my goal is to make it so good that people open just because they wanna hear from me. They trust I have good things to say. It matters less what format I speak in - which naturally happens to be visual-punctuated, medium-to-long form writing (as a writer with an eye for design). I keep it basic so there's a little as possible diluting or distracting from the expression of my voice.
It's that George Saunders quote, swap "flavor" for "medium" - "It's not the flavor of your taste that matters; it's the intensity with which you apply your taste that will cause the resulting work of art to feel highly organized."
